Participants will learn the fundamentals of songwriting, such as working with pitch, melody, chord progressions, and more. Additionally, participants will have the opportunity to create their own song, using specially-commissioned lyrics, and receive guidance from world-renowned musician Martin Simpson. Finally, while access to a musical instrument is not required, participants will be able to use their voice or freely available music software to participate in the course.
