This course, Introduction to Python: Absolute Beginner, is designed to provide an in-depth look at the details of Python layers and concepts. Through hands-on practice drills and projects, learners will gain an understanding of data types and variables, strings, input, testing, formatting, arguments and parameters, conditionals, and nested conditionals. By the end of the course, learners will be able to create programs that prompt users for input and use conditional (True/False) logic and Python methods to manipulate numbers and text to provide responses to the users, in addition to requesting further input. Learners will also gain basic troubleshooting skills for their code. All practice drills and projects will be completed using Jupyter Notebooks on Azure, which require only a browser and an Internet connection. This course is ideal for those who are brand new to text-based programming and are looking to get started coding right away. Please note that this course will retire in June, so please enroll only if you are able to finish your coursework in time.
