The Art of Poetry is a course that encourages learners to explore the art of poetry in depth. Through this course, learners will gain an understanding of the historical relation of poetry to courtship, techniques of sound in free verse, poetry and difficulty, and kidding and tribute. Learners will be required to read and analyze poems with prolonged and repeated attention, and to think deeply and passionately about what the poem says and how it feels in their own voice. The course will also provide learners with the opportunity to create their own anthology of poems. By the end of the course, learners will have developed a lifelong appreciation for poetry.
