This course provides an introduction to Postmodernism in literature. In the first week, students will be introduced to the definitions, concepts, and general online background of Postmodernism. During the second week, students will read seminal texts and events which define Postmodernism, such as Lyotard and Barthes. In the third week, students will locate the Postmodern in the contemporary. The fourth week will focus on Postmodernism in literature and a historical survey. The fifth week will focus on Postmodernism as a literary critical approach. The sixth and seventh weeks will involve a detailed study of selected texts, including prose, poetry, and drama. The eighth week will involve a detailed study of miscellaneous texts.

After this course, students can apply their knowledge of postmodernism in literature by analyzing and interpreting texts from a postmodern perspective. They can also use their understanding of postmodernism to explore the influence of postmodernism on contemporary literature. Additionally, students can use their knowledge to develop their own postmodern literary works.
