Students will learn the concepts of development economics to help them understand what causes underdevelopment and what aids development. After completing this course, students should be able to apply the concepts of development economics to analyze and understand the causes of underdevelopment and the strategies that can be used to promote development. Additionally, students should be able to distinguish between growth and development, apply major growth theories, measure inequality, and recognize the importance of agriculture in development.
