This Stanford Seminar course will provide students with an introduction to the topic of random number generation. Students will learn about the RSA and Diffie-Hellman textbooks, Taiwan Citizen Digital Certificate Smartcards, and the potential for key collisions in the wild. They will also explore the implications of repeated keys, classifying them, and attributing SSL and SSH vulnerabilities to implementations. The course will also cover random number generation in software, Linux random number generators, and devices generating weak DSA signatures.

At the end of the course, students will have a better understanding of the importance of random number generation and the potential risks associated with weak implementations.
