In this module, Tissue Engineering, you will be introduced to tissue engineering and whole tissue replacement. You will learn the Polymeric Growth Factor and Polymeric Systems as well as Regeneration and Foreign Body Response to Implants and the features of Implant Infections.

Route Specific Delivery

In this module, Route Specific Delivery, you will learn about Controlled Release and be introduced to Bioadhesives. You will distinguish between Oral Admission and Subcutaneous Route and learn the Microstructured Transdermal System.

Drug Administration

In this module, Drug Administration, you will learn the fundamentals of Transdermal Delivery via Ionic Liquids, as well as Inhalable Carriers, and the use of Bacteriophages for treatment. You will distinguish between Intra-articular Administration and Intravenous Administration and lastly will begin the fundamentals of the Immune System.

First Assessment

Vaccines

In this module, Vaccines, you will learn about the different types of Vaccines and how they work. You will learn Immuno-isolated Cell Therapy and Gene Therapy. You will continue to learn about the Immune System and its Adaptive Responses. How the Complement System and Blood Clotting System work will also be discussed.

Gene Delivery and Other Variants

In this module, Gene Delivery and Other Variants, you will learn the fundamentals of Gene Delivery with vectors as well as Polymers. You will also learn how genes can be used as vaccines and how Cancer Vaccines and Immunotherapy are created and used.

Responsive and Targeted Delivery Systems

In this module, Responsive and Targeted Delivery Systems, you will learn about Stimuli-Sensitive and Smart Systems and how certain systems can be controlled magnetically. You will also learn the fundamentals of Sensitive Hydrogels and how temperature can create certain responses. Finally, you will be introduced to the Nanotoxicology and Translation Pathways.
