If you are an active member in the California National Guard, the State Military Reserve, or the Naval Militia you may be eligible for a state-funded program designed to provide an educational incentive to improve your skills, competencies, and abilities.

Scholarships are awarded to women who are non-traditional students who have experienced challenges in life and education that differ from the traditional 4-year path. Applicants must be 23 years of age or older. Must live or attend school in north San Diego County, including northern city of San Diego.

For students who are not eligible for the Cal Grant Entitlement awards. This is a competitive award and limited to 13,000 awards each academic year. Students are encouraged to create the WebGrants for Students account to manage their Cal Grant award. Students are selected for this award based on a score that is generated from information obtained from their FAFSA or CA Dream Act Application, and their GPA.

The Horatio Alger Association, through the generosity of its members, provides aid to students in all states who have displayed integrity and perseverance in overcoming adversity and demonstrate critical financial need.
